Medium-Sized Plants
Aglaonemas
Due to technical advances in breeding,
mainly the use of tissue culture, a multitude of Aglaonema varieties
have become available in the last decade. This family offers a wide
selection of shape, size, color, and pattern in the stem and leaf
structure. From dark green to a silvery gray, from wide to narrow
leaves, from green to white stems, from upright to fountain shape growth
habits…this plant is a staple in any plantscape.

Dracaenas
As an old stand-by, the light green
foliage with the white stripe offers a little contrast in color for a
low light environment. When grouped with plants having solid color
and/or a mottled variegation, the effect creates interest. There are now
a few new versions of this “workhorse” available. Look for cutbacks,
stumps, compactas as new growing styles for this great plant.
